The door jam says 3300lbs, the internet says 2300lbs. Is it weight classes or what?

Are you looking at the maximum weight capacity?

Sorry not trying to be rude, but can somebody set me up with authorship on Oppo? I have really been getting into it lately and there are a few news items I have seen but haven't been able to write about because of my lack of authorship. I also believe that I am not an idiot in the comments, so I have that going for me. Please? :)

There is a difference between the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle Weight Ratings (GAWR) marked on the certification sticker on the door jamb in comparison to the vehicle curb weight.

Yeah, you're looking at max weight capacity. It's the number on the door sill right? The one on my Miata says 2800lbs or something. You probably won't find your car's weight anywhere on the car.

Door jamb is most likely indicating the GVWR.

Gross weight vs curb weight? Or at you looking at GWVR? Engine and options might make a big difference too. I think US requirements for weight measurements implies two passengers (somewhere around 150lb each) and a full tank of gas. It wouldn't account for 1000lbs difference.
However, a small I4 VS a DOHC V6, plus the weight of the passengers, plus the tank of gas, plus some other options, COULD actually add up to be that much.
And what car is it?

yeah - can't be 2300 scale weight - my little base 1990 Nissan Hardbody std cab short bed was 2800 dry. Maybe that's the total vehicle capacity. (Other than a bit shy of head room, those orig model Pathfinders are cool.)

the internet is wrong. its maybe 3200 lbs. 2300? no way in hell.
